HFTP Partakes in the Rebirth of New Orleans
AUSTIN, TX, November 15, 2005. Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) is joining efforts to help restore New Orleans as a top convention and tourism destination. As the home to one of the association's well-established chapters and a frequent location for HFTP's educational conferences, the association has great interest in helping New Orleans' hospitality industry regain its strength. HFTP will begin its efforts this Wednesday, November 16, when the Greater New Orleans chapter, a two-time HFTP Chapter of the Year winner, will reunite for the first time since the hurricane. HFTP will also locate its 2007 March Club and Hotel Controllers conference at the Ritz Carlton New Orleans, its first upcoming, non-contracted meeting.
"We want to demonstrate support to both our Louisiana members and the city of New Orleans by reintroducing the great city to our international membership," said Frank Wolfe, CAE, HFTP executive vice president and CEO.
Wednesday's chapter meeting will be held at the historic Hotel Monteleone at 214 Rue Royale. The dinner and reception will start at 6 p.m. and will feature numerous speakers, including Wolfe.
"It will be great to see the chapter members and hear what they've been through," said Robert Oprea, CHAE, CHTP, controller for Le Pavillon Hotel in New Orleans and a director on the HFTP International Board. "We've developed special relationships with each other through the years that we've been involved in HFTP. It's become more personal and like a brotherhood."
The Club and Hotel Controllers Conference will be held March 19*20. The conference provides attendees the opportunity to become up-to-date on hot industry topics, as well as to meet with individuals who have similar professional interests, providing great networking opportunities. The 2005 March conference hosted 166 attendees.
