Ibersuizas Denies Takeover Bid for NH Hoteles
MADRID, Spain, July 21, 2006. Spanish investment firm Inversiones Ibersuizas SA has denied a media report that said it was in talks with Barcelo Hotels and Resorts to make an offer for Spanish hotels firm NH Hoteles SA.
Spanish news Web site El Confidencial had Friday reported Ibersuizas and Barcelo would make a takeover bid for NH Hoteles.
NH Hoteles, which operates 240 hotels with more than 34,000 rooms in 16 countries across Europe, Latin America and Africa, has for some time been rumored to be a takeover target, especially after hotel chain Hesperia in June launched a bid for 24.9%, according to to Dow Jones newswire.
