Germany's Room Rates Rise in October

. October 14, 2008

DECEMBER 20, 2006. The October results for Germany show average room rates (ARR) rising by 4.7% compared to last year, occupancy dropped slightly (-0.5%) and overall performance was reflected in a 4.1% rise in RevPAR compared to October of last year.

These results have lead year to date revenue per available room (RevPAR) to drop from last month's result of 11.3% to 10.8% for October year to date.

James Chappell, Managing Director of The Bench said, "Although the October results surpass those of August, they are significantly below the year to date performance in all three indicators. ARR is 4% below the year to date result of 8.7%, and with occupancy 2.4% below, RevPAR for October is 6.7% lower than the accumulated year to date result. Hence, it is evident that Germany continues to struggle to maintain the positive differential generated by the World Cup compared to the performance of last year."
