Rezidor Adds Three to Park Inn Portfolio
JANUARY 10, 2008. The Rezidor Hotel Group has further strengthened its Park Inn portfolio and announced new properties in London, Bratislava and Dakar - adding 584 rooms to the system.
Between 2007 and 2009 Rezidor will open 20,000 new rooms in total. "Park Inn is our dynamic, fresh and fastest growing brand", says Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor, "and we are especially proud to open a real flagship property in London, one of Europe's key markets."
The Park Inn London, Russell Square is ideally located in London's Midtown district, just south of Russell Square, between the West End and the Financial District. This area attracts both the leisure and the corporate demand, thus enabling a perfect mix for strong and stable yields.
The hotel - formerly operated as the "Bonnington Hotel" - comprises 214 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, 14 meeting rooms and a fitness area. The building is currently being fully renovated with most of the rooms being completely re-designed. Rezidor will take over the hotel and re-brand it as Park Inn effective February 1, 2008. The Park Inn London, Russell Square is the group's 48th property in the UK and its 4th hotel in London - besides the Radisson SAS Portman, the Park Inn Hyde Park and the Park Inn Heathrow.
In Slovakia's capital Bratislava Rezidor has taken over the existing "Danube Hotel Bratislava" (effective December 27, 2007) and re-branded it as Park Inn Danube.
The hotel is located in the old part of the city, only 100 meters away from the award-winning Radisson SAS Carlton hotel which is operated by Rezidor since 2001. Besides 265 guestrooms the property features 3 restaurants, a pool area, a fitness area and a night club. Rezidor's third new hotel is located in Dakar (Senegal). The Park Inn Dakar will open its doors in Q4 2009 and offer 105 guestrooms, a restaurant and a bar, meeting & conference facilities and a fitness area.
The hotel, located in the heart of Dakar's business and administrative quarter, is well connected to the city's road network. In West Africa, Rezidor has three more properties under development - the Radisson hotels in Dakar, Lagos (Nigeria) and Bamako (Mali).
