Largest Pillar-free Ballroom Opens at Orlando World Center
Marriott Resort & Convention Center; 450,000 square-feet of Event Space
ORLANDO, FL, October 30, 2007. The earth's largest Marriott...the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort & Convention Center showcased the new 105,000 square-foot Cypress Ballroom, which is five times the size of the White House during dedication ceremonies held Saturday, October 27, 2007. This latest addition substantially increases this premier meeting destination's event space, affording planners 450,000 square-feet of flexible event space almost entirely on one level and all under one roof. "The Cypress Ballroom is impressive in its design, functionality, technology and d'ecor," stated Director of Sales and Marketing, Tim Pyne. "The largest pillar-free resort ballroom in the nation is simply something you have to see to believe."
Larger than a football field and with a volume of 1.8 billion golf balls, the new Cypress Ballroom can seat as many as 9,000 attendees in rounds of 10, or 13,000 theatre-style. Together with the Palms Ballroom, it provides 150,000 square feet of contiguous, pillar-free carpeted meeting space and more than 50,000 square feet of convenient pre-function space. American Trucking Association, which hosted a ribbon-cutting event on October 21, became the first group to take advantage of the new space. The venue is complemented by an idyllic resort offering 2,000 magnificently designed guest rooms and suites, 10 restaurants and lounges, 18-hole championship golf club, a full-service spa and fitness center, and a million-gallon pool complex which makes a perfect backdrop for varieties of outdoor functions under the Florida sun.
The Cypress Ballroom, combined with existing flexible meeting space, offers over 350,000 square feet, almost all on one level and under one roof.
