MONTEREY, CA, September 3, 2007. Following the complete renovation and launch of TusCA Ristorante and Fireplace Lounge, Hyatt Regency Monterey announces the completion of The Wine Room, a state-of-the-art wine cellar and entertaining space, featuring a delectable cheese case. Centrally located in between TusCA Restaurant and Fireplace Lounge, The Wine Room's modern design includes a communal table surrounded by sleek glass refrigerators of fine wines, creating a dynamic destination for a pre-dinner glass of wine and appetizer, or a selection of cheese and dessert wine, as well as a private event.

Wine And Dine

With TusCA Ristorante and Fireplace Lounge quickly becoming favorite gathering spots for both locals of and visitors to the Monterey Peninsula, The Wine Room offers yet another setting for socializing, sampling creative cocktails and listening to Fireplace Lounge's live weekend jazz. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a selection of charcuterie, antipasti or cheeses with a complementary glass of fine wine prior to dining at TusCA. Available for private events with advance reservation, The Wine Room seats up to eight at the communal table and can accommodate up to 16 for standing events. Private wine tasting events conducted by Consulting Wine Director Mark Buzan are also available with prior arrangements.

A Room With A View

Located in the center of the action, The Wine Room is a floor-to-ceiling display wine cellar created almost entirely of glass. The cutting edge cooling system maintains the carefully controlled temperatures for a collection of acclaimed regional and international wines. With access to the other side of the bar in Fireplace Lounge's bar, The Wine Room offers open views of the clean lines of TusCA Ristorante's display kitchen, the warm, contemporary design of Fireplace Lounge, and the adjacent rolling greens of the Pebble Beach Company's Del Monte Golf Course. Natural stone and wood echo the newly redesigned restaurant and lounge.

Artisanal Cheeses

The Wine Room's cheese display case present items from the superb selection available in both the Fireplace Lounge and TusCA Ristorante. Compiled with the assistance of R. Kent Torrey, from the renowned The Cheese Shop in Carmel Valley, all the cheeses, which include some labels produced around the Monterey Peninsula, are hand-selected seasonally to showcase the finest and most interesting cheese available on the market.
