The Haciendas, the 5 boutique hotels of the Luxury Collection brand of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, located in the Yucatan Peninsula announces a unique opportunity for its guests to live an unforgettable experience of intercultural contact, that allow them to discover and feel the thousand-year-old Mayan culture, through the new concept of Spa, and its new menu of massages.

The therapists are Mayan people from the communities, highly qualified, that have been trained and specialized day by day by Fundacion Haciendas del Mundo Maya a non-profit organization which since 2002, has dedicated its efforts to help those communities which endure in unfavorable conditions among the ruins of former henequen-producing haciendas in the southeast of Mexico.

With the new Spa's menu, the guests will be able to enjoy the techniques of the Mayan's and its ancient massages, as the "MAYAN MASSAGE", that integrates their techniques and a prayer that facilitates the interior wellbeing, re-establishes its spiritual harmony and its corporal equilibrium in a deep relaxation.

Also they will be able to enjoy exquisite treatments, as the "IMPERIAL FACIAL" which is based on the know-how of the Mayan "healers" using natural products of the region such as honey, royal jelly, clay and aloe vera.

This menu is specially designed to reduce the tension, and according to the Mayan tradition, the treatments implies to be purified: physically , emotionally and spiritually.
