Foxwoods Names VP Resort Development
MAY 10, 2007. Foxwoods Resort Casino announced the appointment of Foxwoods veteran John Rooney as Vice President of Resort Development. Rooney has been vitally involved in the design and construction of Foxwoods Resort Casino for an extraordinary fourteen years.
"John has been an integral member of our design and construction team for fourteen years, and I am delighted to have him continue his tenure at Foxwoods Resort Casino in this new position. There really is no one is better suited to take on the role of Vice President of Resort Development" said John O'Brien, President of Foxwoods.
"I am pleased to take on new responsibilities here at Foxwoods in light of the tremendous opportunities that are at hand, and being an integral part in the future development of the property" said John Rooney.
Rooney began his architectural career in New York City with William B. Tabler Associates, an internationally renowned hospitality and resort architectural firm. He later joined Jeter Cook & Jepson Architects, based in Hartford, Connecticut, where he began his relationship with Foxwoods Resort Casino in 1992. He joined the MPTN Projects Department in 2000 before accepting a position at Foxwoods Resort Casino in 2005.
Rooney is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame, where he earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree. A licensed architect and interior designer, Rooney is a member of the AIA and holds NCARB accreditation. Rooney is currently married and a father of two sons.
