InterContinental Board Appointment

MAY 9, 2007. InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (IHG) today announced the appointment of Patrick Imbardelli as an Executive Director of the Board. Patrick will join the Board on 1 July 2007, retaining his current responsibilities as Chief Executive of IHG's Asia Pacific region.

Patrick joined Bass PLC, the forerunner to IHG, in 2000, and was appointed Managing Director, Asia Pacific in 2003. He has over 25 years' experience in the hotel and tourism industry including senior operational roles with Hilton International, Hyatt Corporation and the Southern Pacific Hotels Corporation (now part of IHG).

Commenting on his appointment, David Webster, IHG's non-executive Chairman, said: "Patrick brings a wealth of experience to the Board. His operational management skills are widely recognised and his knowledge of the Asia Pacific region is of particular value given the Company's strategic focus there. He is a most welcome addition to the Board."

Patrick, 46, holds a Bachelor of Business degree from Victoria University in Australia. He is married, with two children, and lives in Singapore.
