Marshall House Completes Renovation
SAVANNAH, GA, February 8, 2008. Guests at The Marshall House are now enjoying completely new rooms and suites following a $1.5 million renovation that blended the best of the hotel's historic ambiance with a fresh new look.
The new rooms, combined with the hotel's impressive display of old Savannah prints and authentic historic artifacts, make The Marshall House the most luxurious, unique and interesting historic Savannah hotel. And with a front entrance that opens directly onto Broughton Street, with a great view of Savannah's historic district, this hotel is truly one of the area's treasures.
The Veranda Rooms
Our historic Savannah hotel has six second-floor King Rooms (Grand Superior Balcony Rooms) and one suite (The Mary Marshall) that open onto a wrought iron veranda spanning the front of the hotel. Outfitted with rocking chairs, ceiling fans and hanging flower baskets, the balcony is semi-private, as only guests who reserve one of the Veranda Rooms can gain access through large raised windows. This unusual entrance was designed in the 1850s, and its style and design is original to the hotel. The Veranda rooms have been featured on the Travel Channel's Great Hotels with Samantha Brown, and are the hotel's most popular accommodations.
