Victor Tiffany, Tarsadia SVP Concept Development to Speak at Cornell

. October 14, 2008

ITHACA, NY, February 19, 2008. Inspiration is coming to Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration this coming Thursday, February 21, 2008 at 4:30 pm. Victor Tiffany '85, Vice President of Concept Development for Tarsadia Hotels, will speak to Cornell students about career, hospitality, and their place in the working world.

Victor Tiffany joined Tarsadia Hotels in March 2007. Prior to that, he served as the Vice President of Food & Beverage for the Borgata, which opened in Atlantic City in 2003 with 2,000 rooms at the cost of over $1 billion dollars. Victor saw the Borgata from conception, starting 2 years prior to opening, right through ongoing operations. Victor was the visionary who brought celebrity chefs to the Atlantic City market, which many thought was not interested in "trading up" to the Las Vegas style: Susan Foo, Luc Palladino, and the Old Homestead Steakhouse were the appetizer, followed by Michael Mina, Bobby Flay and Wolfgang Puck, with Borgata's first expansion.

Victor Tiffany graduated from Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration. He also studied classical French cooking at the Cordon Bleu in Paris. He worked for fifteen years with Drew Nieporent '77 of the Myriad Restaurant Group where he started in operations and served as Restaurant Director for NYC's acclaimed Tribeca Grill under Robert De Niro's ownership from 1989-95. Later, as Director of Special Projects, he opened Myriad's Nobu Next Door, TriBakery and Layla in NYC, Nobu in London, and Rubicon, owned in part by Robin Williams, Robert De Niro, and Francis Ford Coppola, in San Francisco. Prior to joining the Borgata, Victor Tiffany was the Director of F&B for the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton.

Mr. Tiffany has a contagious and inspirational spirit. His unique style combines the passion and ambitions of an experienced business leader with the rich wisdom of a storyteller. This Thursday, he will lead students to reflect on who they are and help them appreciate the powerful position they are in to make the most of their life. He will challenge the way students perceive themselves, their career, and their relationships, while delivering important leadership lessons. This is one presentation that will truly be a treat for Cornell students: a taste of inspiration!
