Lexington Cliffbreakers Riverside Teams with Red Cross to Aid Flood Victims
JUNE 19, 2008. Lexington Hotel Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort has announced a partnership with the local chapter of the American Red Cross to help families devastated by the recent floods throughout the local area and region. Funds raised will be earmarked for food, shelter, and other urgent necessities.
"Our program with the American Red Cross will formally kick-off on today because the time for action is now and these families, who are our neighbors and friends, cannot wait for help," said Michael Ellis, Owner and General Manager of Lexington Hotel Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort. "Our hotel is about doing business and celebrating life - which is not just our mission statement but our passion and our guide in all we do."
The hotel will host a special Hot Breakfast fundraiser on Wednesday, June 18 from 6:00 to 9:00 a.m. The cost for breakfast is $10 and 100 percent of the profits will be donated.
In addition, the hotel will donate $1 for each breakfast served between June 19 and July 31. Guests will have the opportunity to match this gift by contributing an additional $1 to the fundraising program.
The proactive stance the hotel takes in helping the community has caught the attention of local city leaders. According to Cyndie Hall, Director of the Rockford Mayor's Office of Tourism, Culture and Special Events and a board member of the Rockford Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, "The Lexington Hotel Cliffbreakers Riverside Resort has long been an important part of our civic and social fabric in Rockford. We're so pleased to have them leading the way."
Steve Belmonte, President & CEO, Partner of The Lexington Collection said such philanthropic efforts are a part of the Lexington brand's DNA. "We believe in making a difference and serving our communities. I'm thrilled that Michael and his team are partnering with the American Red Cross to help alleviate the hardships the flood victims are enduring. I couldn't be more proud."
