Safemark Systems Signs Agreement With Select Hospitality Systems to be Exclusive Canadian Distributo
ORLANDO, FL, October 13, 2005. Safemark Systems, an Orlando-based company that is a leading supplier of in-room safes to top hotel chains and hospitality providers worldwide, has signed an agreement with Select Hospitality Systems Ltd. of Toronto to be its exclusive distributor in the Canadian Hospitality Market.
The agreement is part of Safemark's continuing expansion into the International market. Earlier this year it hired Hugo Chavez as Director of Sales to contribute to international sales and marketing. Chavez, who is based in Mexico City, is developing accounts in both Mexico and South America. Safemark will have a strong partner in the Canadian market in Select Hospitality Systems Ltd., which specializes in providing advanced technology and services specifically for the hospitality industry.
Larry S. Cechet, the president of Select Hospitality Systems, has worked in the Canadian hospitality industry for more than 25 years. Before starting Select Hospitality Systems, Cechet was president of VingCard/Elsafe Ltd., supplier of hotel locks and safes in Canada. He also founded Amenities International, a provider of customized guest room amenities.
Cechet has worked with such major hotel chains as Choice Hotels, Days Inn, Hyatt Hotels, Four Seasons, Sandman Inns & Suites, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Delta Hotels Ltd., Coast Hotels, Westmont Hospitality, Prestige Inns, Hilton Hotels, Westin Hotels & Resorts, Sheraton Hotels and Marriott Hotels.
"With more than 6,500 properties representing over 375,000 guest rooms, the Canadian market is a significant opportunity for Safemark," said John Foley, Vice-President of Safemark Systems. "Select Hospitality Systems Ltd. has a strong reputation for serving Canadian hotels. We're looking forward to working with them to build loyal, long-term customer relationships in this important market.
"Safemark is a natural fit for the Canadian market," said Cechet. "Like hotels in the U.S., Canadian operators are seeing that guests expect the convenience of electronic in-room safes in their hotel rooms, especially in the higher end luxury properties."
