Students at University of Nevada, Las Vegas Using MICROS OPERA

COLUMBIA, MD, November 17, 2008. MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that it has donated the MICROS OPERA Enterprise Solution to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), William F. Harrah College of Hotel Administration. The solution, which includes OPERA Property Management, OPERA Sales & Catering, and OPERA Vacation Ownership, will be deployed before the end of 2008 and will serve as the hotel software used to educate UNLV students in practical applications.

UNLV offers one of the leading hospitality programs in the world, with Las Vegas serving as the world's largest hospitality and tourism laboratory. MICROS has enjoyed a strong relationship with UNLV starting with the deployment of MICROS 9700 Hospitality Management System (HMS) for the food & beverage operations in UNLV's Thomas & Mack Center, followed by MICROS's donation of 9700 HMS as the core restaurant and retail software for use in the classrooms.

MICROS OPERA will be used in student curricula to educate hospitality management students in hotel, events, and condo management. Up to 200 students at a time will be taught on OPERA applications in various classes.
