. November 20, 2008

ALEXANDRIA, VA, November 20, 2008. The NBTA Foundation, the education and research foundation of the National Business Travel Association (NBTA), today provided NBTA members with the results of the Travel Management Compensation and Benefits Survey. The report is designed to allow individual travel managers to compare their compensation levels and benefits to those of their peers. The 2008 Travel Management Compensation and Benefits Survey, based on the responses of 279 corporate travel managers working in the United States and Canada, shows the average total compensation of respondents, including salaries and bonuses, has grown 6.9 percent higher from last year to $97,383.

NBTA Foundation Chair Fay Beauchine commented, "In today's dynamic business environment, travel managers are on the front lines, delivering cost-savings, driving cost-avoidance, and creating value to help companies meet strategic goals. Travel management expertise and know-how are more crucial now than ever, and that value is reflected in the growth we have seen in travel managers' salaries."

The report provides detailed data on respondents' gender, job titles, professional certifications, years of experience, and more. NBTA members can access the complete report via www.nbta.org/Research/Surveys. Members of the media can obtain the report by contacting [email protected].
