WASHINGTON, DC, November 21, 2008. The National Business Travel Association (NBTA) - the representative of the business travel industry in Washington - today commented on reports that Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano is being considered for the position of Secretary of Homeland Security in the incoming Barack Obama administration.
C. Stewart Verdery, Jr., NBTA Government Relations & Federal Strategies Consultant, said, "NBTA is enthusiastic about the likelihood that Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano will be nominated to lead the Department of Homeland Security. Her experience managing a state so dependent on a robust travel market will be invaluable in ensuring that DHS makes security and economic growth major priorities in 2009 and beyond."
