Clive Edwards Appointed DR&O at Sol'is

NOVEMBER 26, 2008. Eleven-year hotel industry veteran, Clive Edwards, has been appointed to the position of Director of Rooms Operations for the new Sol'is The Palmyra Resort & Spa located in the exclusive enclave of Rose Hall in Montego Bay, Jamaica, which is scheduled to open in March 2009. In his new position, Edwards will be responsible for ensuring that all facets of the resort's operations reflect the corporate's vision of excellence.

"Clive's extensive background in hotel management makes him a vital part of our team, especially as we prepare to open this magnificent property in March," said Lester Scott, General Manager, Sol'is The Palmyra Resort & Spa. "Offering guests everything from private concierge, butler, maid and chef services; the Caribbean's first ESPA branded spa; a gourmet shop and wine cellar with fine products from around the world; and more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space, Clive will be instrumental in ensuring that we exceed our guests' highest expectations."

Edwards comes to Sol'is The Palmyra Resort & Spa from Sandals Royal Caribbean Beach Resort and Off-Shore Island in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where he was Hotel Manager. He served in the same capacity at Beaches Sandy Bay Beach Resort in Negril.

Edwards began his career as a Trainee Manager at Sandals Dunn River Beach Resort in Ocho Rios before moving on to become Executive Housekeeper at the Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa.

Edwards has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Studies and a Post-graduate diploma in Hospitality Management from the University of the West Indies.
