Economist Peter Morici to Speak at Travel & Meetings Summit

Morici to Provide Economic Overview, Expectations and Reflect on Current Recession

ALEXANDRIA, VA / TEMPE, AZ, December 11, 2008. - The National Business Travel Association (NBTA), the Institute for Supply ManagementTM (ISM), and ProMedia.travel LLC, today announced that Dr. Peter Morici, Ph.D., Professor with the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, will address attendees at the inaugural ISM and NBTA Summit on Travel & Meetings: Supply Management's Critical Role. The Summit will be held January 27-28, at the Westin Charlotte, in Charlotte, North Carolina. As the United States starts a new year officially in a recession, Morici will provide an overview of the current global economic crisis and what businesses and individuals can expect in the coming year and beyond.

Professor Morici is a recognized expert on economic policy and international economics, having served as director of the Office of Economics at the U.S. International Trade Commission prior to becoming a professor at the University of Maryland. He has authored 18 books and monographs, participated in three NBTA TV episodes, and is frequently featured on national broadcast networks around the world. Morici has most recently testified before Congress on the auto industry bailout.
