Green Team Plans Middle Tennessee Championship
NASHVILLE, TN, May 4, 2009 - The Green Team, Inc. announces that the 3rd annual Middle Tennessee Hospitality Championship Series (HCS) will move from its traditional mid-August date to November 17, 2009. HCS, hosted by The Greater Nashville Hotel & Lodging Association (GNH&LA), aims to celebrate local hospitality industry team members through events that showcase those services hotels provide.
"We are excited to have an industry exclusive company like The Green Team sponsoring this event for the third year in a row," expressed Walt Baker, CEO of GNH&LA. "It is because of their support that we can continue the future growth and development of hospitality employees and leaders."
The past two years HCS has raised over $30,000 for the Tennessee Hospitality Education Foundation. This year HCS is adding a new element to the event by donating to a local charity. By moving the date to November allows HCS to give to a Nashville-based charity in hopes of providing comfort during the busy holiday season.
HCS celebrates hospitality employees through a series of seven competitive games and two special exhibition events. Each year, teams from lodging properties throughout Greater Nashville compete in such events as Bednastics, Are You Smarter Than a Hotel General Manager, Bell Cart Wheelie, Dress for Success, Invasion of the Commode, Server Slalom and Some Assembly Required. The two exhibition competitions are the Towel-Folding and Culinary Exhibition.
"The hospitality industry keeps "Music City" alive on a daily basis through their warm friendly faces to every tourist that comes to Nashville," said Thom Druffel, President of the GNH&LA & Education Committee Chairman. "November 17th will be just another day to display the importance of the industry and continuing its growth."
