AVIAN (BIRD) FLU. In accordance with the World Health Organisation, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) is not currently advising against travel to any countries affected by Avian (Bird) Flu. Members should however, direct customers to the Travel Advice section of the FCO website to see if any particular precautions need to be taken in affected areas. These precautions normally take the form of avoiding contact with live poultry to minimise any potential risk. WORLD TRAVEL MARKET. Members and Travel Industry Partners attending this year's World Travel Market are invited to meet key ABTA staff and the Moroccan National Tourist Office on their stand (ME4500) between 12.00 hours and 13.00 hours on both Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 November. SUSTAINABLE TOURISM. There is so much happening on 'responsible tourism'. But have you ever asked yourselves how well you are doing as a business and do you even know where to start? As part of ABTA's strategy to promote sustainable business practices we are helping the European Commission with a project aimed at identifying the best ways for tour operators to integrate sustainability with core business goals. This is the first European survey of its kind on Sustainable Tourism. Please take just 20 minutes to complete it. JUDICIAL REVIEW. The hearing of ABTA's application for a Judicial Review of the CAA Guidance Note 26 takes place on 8 and 9 November. PREFERENCE SERVICES. Members are reminded of the Direct Marketing Associations' (DMA) Preference Services. These enable businesses to register their wish to opt out of receiving unsolicited telephone calls, and consumers to register their wish to opt out of receiving unsolicited messages by mail, telephone, fax or email.
