Le Meridien's Phillippe Seigle Awarded Best Hotel General Manager at 6th Worldwide Hospitality Award
LONDON, UK, November 14, 2005. Phillippe Seigle, former regional general manager, Thailand and general manager of Le M'eridien Phuket Beach Resort was awarded Best Hotel General Manager at the 6th Worldwide Hospitality Awards held in Paris. As general manager of Le M'eridien Phuket Beach Resort from 2003 until his recent transfer, Seigle distinguished himself as an outstanding leader, especially during the tsunami in December 2004, which resulted in the closure of Le M'eridien Phuket Beach Resort until August 2005.
According to Seigle: "The catastrophe tightened bonds within my staff in a way that I have never seen before. We have overcome the challenge thanks to fantastic teamwork based on clear communication and management." Seigle has recently moved on to his next project, taking the position of area general manager, South America and general manager of Le M'eridien Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
Each year, the Worldwide Hospitality Awards is presented by the MKG Group, which is associated with HTR Magazine, offering an occasion for large hotel groups to demonstrate their abilities to react and innovate in an ever more competitive world.
Le M'eridien Beach Plaza, Monte Carlo also received a nomination for its restaurant concept: l'Intempo in the category of Best Innovative Concept Other Than Hotel Lodging.
