Abaco Beach Resort Hosts Caribbean Art Festival
ABACO, The Bahamas, January 4, 2006. Abaco Beach Resort & Boat Harbour is pleased to announce the 7th Annual Abaco Arts Festival, January 27-29, 2006. The resort will host this unique event that features artists from the Caribbean, The Bahamas as well as a few artists from the United States. This event not only includes beautiful artwork, but a host of events as well. Enjoy a private welcome reception on Thursday (arrival day), a Wine and Cheese Party on Friday as well as a Gala Dinner on Saturday evening for guests and artists to mingle and discuss art.
Other planned events also include a scenic boat ride through the beautiful Cays in the Sea of Abaco, a visit to Little Harbour Museum and Pete Johnson's Sculpture Workshop where guests will hear a talk about his sculptures. Ann Ray will also speak at a clinic regarding her work with watercolors and how she portrays the beauty of the islands in her paintings. Sculpture Art/Carving Art - Detailed bronze carvings, wood carvings and handcrafted jewelry.
Fabric Art - iew a selection of acrylic paintings, most featuring Bahamian sea life.
Jewelry Art - Beautiful sea glass and dichroic glass in both silver and gold.
Stained Glass Art - A selection of artists will display stained glass pieces that feature conch shells and the marine life of the Abacos.
Ceramic Art - see one-of-a-kind pieces that truly represent island life.
Photography Art View black and white photos that date back 50 years.
