2006 Off to a Big Start at San Francisco's Moscone Center
MacWorld and Fancy Food Show To Bring 46,500 People, $44.3 Million Economic
SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Janaury 5, 2005. Two large events - MacWorld Conference and Expo and the Winter Fancy Food Show - will bring a combined 46,500 people and $44.3 million in economic impact to San Francisco in January, according to the San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau (SFCVB). "These groups consistently provide a strong kick-off to the new year," said SFCVB Vice President Conventions Mark Theis. "We feel fortunate to host these prestigious shows year after year."
MacWorld Conference and Expo, the world's most comprehensive event for the Mac operating system will be held January 9-13 at San Francisco's Moscone Center. Over 30,000 attendees are expected to attend. This first major convention of 2006 will bring an economic impact of $28.6 million, as estimated by the SFCVB. More than 300 exhibitors will combine in-depth educational sessions with displays of innovative products and solutions on the exhibit floor.
Among the new exhibits will be:

Macworld Auto Show: an exciting new Exhibit Hall attraction that will feature several custom cars from leading manufacturers - highlighted by the latest in iPod integration, among other Mac computer integrations. A Volkswagen GTi and a Porsche Cayenne will display the latest in vehicle-specific iPod docks; a vintage Buick Riviera will be custom fitted with a Mac mini; plus many more Mac-auto integrations from leading companies Alpine, Dension Audio Systems, 2point5, and Schosche.

The John Lennon Educational Tour Bus: a unique non-profit state-of-the-art mobile recording and multimedia studio. Attendees can learn how artists like the Black Eyed Peas have used the bus to work with students and record their own hit music with the products and solutions found on board.
