Mozambique Investment Continues
MOZAMBIQUE, January 25, 2006. Rani Resorts are currently investing over US$120m into making Mozambique one of the world's top tourism destinations, and ensuring that their properties remain on the forefront of tourism developments. The Group opened Matemo Island Resort in December 2004 and Medjumbe Island Resort in November 2005 - both located in the idyllic Quirimbas Archipelago - a largely undiscovered group of islands off the coast of Northern Mozambique.
The exclusive Lugenda Bush Camp is due to open in June 2006, offering a safari experience to compliment the outstanding beach holiday choices already available. Added to this, Rani is also spending a lot of money upgrading and extending their flagship resorts in Mozambique, namely the Pemba Beach Hotel in Pemba and Indigo Bay island Resort on Bazaruto Island.
Rani Resorts has just announced that Indigo Bay Island Resort will be closed between 15th May 2006 and 31st October 2006 while extensive refurbishments, staff training and service refinements are undertaken. This drastic measure has been taken to ensure that the face-lift will not, in any way, affect the enjoyment of visiting guests.
On reopening, the lodge will offer a range of new world-class facilities, making it the most complete island resort in the Bazaruto Archipelago. These will include a new spa, the addition of two tennis courts, a magnificent ocean-view boma, new fishing and diving centres, another swimming pool, new restaurant and custom-designed mini golf facility. The existing 24 Bay View Rooms will also be converted to 12 Bay View Villas, each with their own splash pool. All Beach Chalets will also be upgraded with larger living areas, a new luxurious bathroom featuring a separate bath and outdoor shower. An additional 6 Beach Chalets will be added, bringing the total up to 30.
Rani Resorts apologise for any inconvenience during this closure.
