Onity Launches Hospitality Industry's First Online Training Portal on New "eBusiness" Client Extran
First ever web-based training portal for hotel staff offers interactive instruction, live online sup
ATLANTA - JUNE 21, 2005 - Onity, the leading global provider of electronic facility control solutions for the lodging industry, is set to introduce a revolutionary new online training portal on the company's dedicated "eBusiness" extranet site. Developed as an added-value service for Onity clients worldwide, the eBusiness site has been in alpha testing since early April. It contains a variety of useful information and tools, such as product updates, architectural specs, downloadable brochures, and FAQs. The new "eTraining" module, which is set to go live simultaneously with the eBusiness site on July 1, features easy-to-navigate, interactive lessons on all Onity products and software, including electronic locking systems, electronic safes, and energy management solutions. Access to the extranet, including product training services, will be offered free of charge to all Onity customers.
"Labor management, including training new staff on property systems, is one of the toughest challenges facing hotel management on a day-to-day basis," said Adam Yapkowitz, Atlanta-based Onity's Vice President of Marketing for North America. "Employee turnover and rapidly changing technology are contributing factors. At Onity, our vision is to help our clients meet that challenge. Through our new eBusiness / eTraining portal, we are empowering them with an innovative new tool that can help better control their properties and staff. The eTraining module is the 'crown jewel' of this site, and we believe that it represents a real paradigm shift in the way hotel staff will be trained in the future."
Before logging onto Onity's password-protected eBusiness site, each hotel staff member is assigned a unique username for training purposes. Users are then guided through each interactive section, using a specially developed three-step "Teach-Guide-Do" protocol. Live, online support is available, and users are tested on their skills at the end of each lesson. Certificates and report cards are generated, as each product section is successfully completed. This virtual "training room" also provides access to downloadable instruction manuals and quick reference guides for all products, which are a valuable resource for hotel design professionals, as well as property technical/maintenance personnel and front desk staff.
"Onity is committed to providing the hospitality industry with much more than just products," Yapkowitz continued. "As we look toward the future, we intend to help make their properties more efficient and easier to run, through creative solutions that take advantage of the latest available technologies. By providing instant access to product information, technical updates, customer service and now, staff training, we are providing our customers with all the tools they need to maximize the potential of our products and systems."
Onity will be officially launching the eBusiness / eTraining portal at the Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference (HITEC(R)) 2005, which is taking place June 20-23 in Los Angeles. Live demonstrations will be given throughout exhibit hours at the Onity booth #219. For more information, please contact Adam Yapkowitz at 770-248-7527, or visit www.onity.com.
