GREATER FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, June 22, 2005. Greater Fort Lauderdale was ranked as the third most hospitable location in the U.S. by Verizon Superpages.com. The survey ranked 1,000 locations across the U.S. based on the number of listings in the hotels, motels, and bed and breakfast categories in yellow pages directories. According to the survey, Florida is the most hospitable state in the nation, with five of the top ten most hospitable destinations located in the Sunshine State.

"Thanks to 'sunsational' leaders in the Greater Fort Lauderdale tourism community and visionary officials in Broward County, we have encouraged new hotel development that has greatly impacted the tourism product," said Nicki E. Grossman, president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. "From grand luxury hotels to our intimate Superior Small Lodging properties, Greater Fort Lauderdale offers a wide range of accommodations."

In the past 12 months alone, several new hotels have made their debut in Greater Fort Lauderdale, including The Atlantic, a Starwood Luxury Collection property on Fort Lauderdale beach; the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Hollywood; the Pelican Beach Resort and the Marriott Hollywood Beach. This December, Florida's first-ever St. Regis Hotel is scheduled to open.

On the horizon, several highly-anticipated properties will debut in Greater Fort Lauderdale, including Florida's first ever W Hotel (December 2006), The Q Club Resort & Residences (2006) and two hotels from Donald J. Trump, including Trump International Hotel & Tower, Fort Lauderdale (2007) and the Trump International Beach Club.
