Makeover for Sandal's Dunn's River

. October 14, 2008

JAMAICA, February 27, 2006. The former Dunn's River resort has had a $25 million makeover. It now includes a two-storey lobby, marble baths, personal butlers and a new Red Lane Spa and has been renamed Sandals Dunn's River Villaggio Golf Resort & Spa.

Italian theme has been incorporated throughout, including a formal Italian garden, five restaurants, a Red Lane Spa that uses local ingredients, and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

The spa uses ingredients indigenous to the region, such as Jamaica's own Blue Mountain coffee, sweet oranges, local honey and almonds and brown sugar sourced from the island.

The resort stages a weekly Venetian masked ball and regular opera, music and theatre shows. There will also be weekly wine-tasting, costumed mimes and displays by caricature artists.
