HIGHLANDS, NC, MARCH 6, 2006. The Old Edwards Inn and Spa is pleased to announce a very special Women's Wellness Retreat Sunday, May 7th through Thursday, May 11th, 2006. Guests will experience five days of education and relaxation while focusing on de-stressing life, recommitting to a healthy lifestyle and learning about the latest in women's health. This exclusive package also includes a pre-visit wellness consultation to customize each guest's retreat experience allowing for specific desired results.
Daily schedules will include instructional and motivational talks with question and answer sessions, journaling classes, cardio fun-outs, yoga, Pilates and a cooking demonstration with Chef Nate Waugaman. She went on to win 4 national pageants, including Miss Georgia and Mrs. America Georgia. As a fitness instructor, personal trainer and featured speaker on radio and television, she has motivated audiences with her expertise and insights. At 41, Mrs. Dominguez maintains a passion for wellness and will share her personal journey, giving answers to challenges we all face in centering our lives and balancing health and home.
Henry Jacobs, D.C., "Functional Health and Personal Wellness," the director of Functional Health, a non-profit organization that promotes educating the public about personal wellness, Dr. Jacobs will share a holistic approach that enables one to integrate a model of health care into daily life and take responsibility for personal wellness. An expert in Kinesiology and Chinese Medicine, he will cover topics that include adrenal stress patterns, eating based on body type and hormonal balance.
"Diet and You... Ask the Doctor." author Dr. Olson will review a variety of approaches to diet (including the "New Calcium Diet: Drop a Size in 3 Days"). He speaks from experience in dealing with everyday challenges of diet and consistency. As a speaker, Dr. Olson brings many years of experience in Internal and Family medicine from private practice, the Army Medical Corps, and 10 years as director of MAHEC Family Practice Residency Program in Asheville. He also served as Vice Chairman and Professor of the Department of Family Medicine at Chapel Hill.
