Conrad Hotels Greets Windy City With Grand Opening of the Conrad Chicago

CHICAGO, IL, June 8, 2006. Conrad(R) Hotels announces the grand opening of the Conrad Chicago, one of the city's newest luxury properties. Formerly Le Meridien, the Conrad Chicago joined the Conrad portfolio in November 2005 and is undergoing a series of luxury enhancements that will provide guests with high levels of quality service set in luxury accommodations. The Conrad Chicago is one of four Conrad(R) properties in the U.S. and 20 worldwide.

Conrad Chicago has made its mission to provide exquisite service and top- level amenities. Guests currently enjoy services such as a complimentary oshi-bori towel for adults or cotton candy for children upon check-in, choice of pillow from a complimentary pillow menu and a bath drawn by a personal bath butler upon request, per availability. Additionally, guest rooms will feature 500-thread count Pratesi(R) bed linens, L'Occitane cosmetic amenities, free WiFi access, hi fi Bose(R) 3-2-1 entertainment systems and 42-inch plasma screen televisions. Further amenities such as iPod docking stations and Xbox 360(TM) game consoles are available upon request. Phased luxury enhancements in all 311 guestrooms and 33 suites will be completed by October 2006.

The enhancements continue on The Terrace at Conrad -- an outdoor area featuring a spectacular bar and modern furniture such as oversized chairs, sofas, daybeds and umbrellas -- which infuse the Conrad's signature contemporary decor with the elements of the outdoors. The recently refurbished terrace offers guests global tapas and refreshing spirits in a chic outdoor setting with cityscape views. The Terrace at Conrad, open daily from 4 to 11 p.m. through September, also hosts "Movies on The Terrace," a series of acclaimed films every Sunday and Monday evening at sunset.

The Conrad's restaurant, currently known as The Restaurant at Conrad, will undergo a name change, interior redesign and offer a new menu of modern American fare. Newly appointed Executive Chef Baasim Zafar brings his extensive culinary experience to all operations for the restaurant, Rendez- Vous bar, and The Terrace at Conrad, as well as private dining and banquet services. Chef Zafar has more than 10 years of European and American professional culinary experience at renowned hotels and dining establishments, most recently as the executive chef at the Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Conrad Chicago is located at 521 North Rush Street, rising above the Westfield North Bridge Shopping Centre and the Nordstrom department store on North Michigan Avenue. The hotel's favorable location gives it close proximity to The Loop, Chicago's financial district, Lake Michigan, Navy Pier and the Merchandise Mart.
