Renaissance Names "North America Sales Team of the Year"
Sales Team at The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL, June 21, 2006. The sales staff of The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida, was just named "Sales Team of the Year" for 2005 by Renaissance North America. The team was selected for the prestigious honor from a field of 77 Renaissance hotels and resorts in North America. The sales staff was presented with an award at a ceremony conducted by Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, according to Mark Schwantner, general manager of the 301-room resort. Located adjacent to the World Golf Hall of Fame, and adjoined to the St. Johns County Convention Center, the 301-room resort is the largest combination hotel and conference center between Atlanta and Orlando, with 86,000 square feet of meeting and event space.
Among the reasons cited for the distinction was that The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village sales team achieved an impressive 146% team booking pace in relation to its annual goal. The team also achieved 154% of their goal for total room revenue and catering revenue, and the staff's RevPAR (revenue per available room) Index was 122% of its goal. The team was also recognized for proactively identifying demand-generating opportunities, and for demonstrating its ability to maintain a market share premium. It also was credited with working together to achieve goals, for involving other departments within the hotel in the sales process, for working closely with off-property partners to maximize the direct sales effort, and for its involvement in the community.
"I am very proud that my team was recognized for all of the hard work they have done, not only this past year, but for all they've accomplished in the four years that I have been here," said Jeff Bloom, director of sales & marketing for The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village. "To be recognized as the 'best of the best' from a brand of really outstanding hotels is fantastic. Our entire team did an outstanding job."
Bloom continued, "Our goals for 2006 are to repeat as recipients of this honor. It has never been done before in the history of Renaissance, so we are aiming to be the first."
