Fairmont and Abercrombie & Kent Announce Affinity
TORONTO, Canada, June 23, 2006. Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, and Abercrombie & Kent have announced a new affinity relationship that will provide customers of both companies with access to exciting vacation experiences in destinations around the globe.

"This new agreement enables us to provide exclusive benefits to our valued clientele, while strategically aligning the Fairmont brand with one of the most recognized names in luxury adventure travel."
Both companies have long histories of providing luxury travel experiences in the world's most unforgettable destinations, and share a commitment to first-class service and accommodations.
Since 1962, A&K has earned its reputation by offering professional and knowledgeable guides, privileged access to authentic cultural experiences, and a combination of safety and adventure while Fairmont has welcomed guests to some of the world's most storied hotels for over a century.
"Our objective with this partnership is to broaden our reach within the luxury travel market and provide benefits to our most frequent travellers," said Geoffrey Kent, A&K's chairman and chief executive officer. "As Fairmont now manages five properties in Kenya and continues to expand globally, we expect to work together to create increased luxury travel options for our loyal guests."
Endeavors to be explored include exclusive offers for members of each brand's respective guest recognition programs; package and promotion development; and additional business opportunities to increase demand of each company's products and services.
Initiating the new relationship, Five-Year and Lifetime members of Abercrombie's Marco Polo Club will have the option to "opt in" to Fairmont President's Club (FPC) at the Premier level, with benefits ranging from room and suite upgrades to bonus air miles and complimentary dining and room night certificates.
In turn, FPC will provide its members the choice to opt into a Marco Polo Club One-Year membership at a special rate, allowing them access to a host of benefits when traveling with Abercrombie & Kent, such as travel discounts and exclusive invitational tours.
