Children Get Special Treatment at Millennium
New 'Kiddie Concierge' Program Treats Youngest Guests Like VIP's
NEW YORK, NY, June 26, 2006. A lifelong love of travel starts out with lasting memories of having fun in wondrous new surroundings. The enormous lobbies, the endless corridors, the restaurants, the uniformed strangers acting nice: these are the impressions of hotels that children carry with them forever and Millennium Hotels and Resorts is making sure that the first impression is a good one.
Throughout the summer, the peak travel season for families, Millennium properties throughout North America are giving their youngest guests the VIP treatment. A new "Kiddie Concierge" program makes an impression at arrival and continues throughout the family's stay. At the concierge desk, families will find a specially designated "Kiddie Concierge" area complete with treats, step stool to make it easier for kids to speak with the concierge and free copies of such children's magazines as National Geographic Kids. The program is designed to provide kids with an appealing standard of personal service while giving parents all they need to make the family's stay in the destination rewarding and productive.
As part of the "Kiddie Concierge" program, hotels will assist families with information about appropriate attractions and activities, such as zoos, museums and theme parks, family-themed restaurants and ice cream shops as well as up-to-date information on special or seasonal events of interest to children, including summer festivals.
"At Millennium Hotels and Resorts, we believe the smallest guest deserves the same respect and personalized attention we give our most valued mature customers," said Sudheer Raghavan, president the Americas, Millennium Hotels and Resorts. "The Kiddie Concierge program is just one way we are trying to make every child's first impression of traveling away from home a truly memorable one."
Since the program began in early June, it has been received as a resounding success. "We had great success and very positive feedback from our guests in-house over the first weekend," reported Rhonda Omodt-Summers, director of sales and marketing at the Millennium Hotel Minneapolis. "Upon check-in parents and their children marveled at the personalized attention they received. We gave out over twenty gift bags to kids and distributed even more of our family-friendly brochures. Overall, everyone is very happy with the results."
