. September 10, 2009

NEW YORK, NY, September 10, 2009 - The National Tour Association (NTA), the preferred American travel industry trade association for packaged travel professionals, and the Africa Travel Association (ATA), the leading travel industry trade association promoting tourism to Africa, announced today the signing of a partnership agreement that will support both organizations' endeavors to promote travel and tourism to the African continent.

"Our partnership with ATA has tremendous potential by bringing NTA members interested in developing travel products to African nations together with the experts at ATA. NTA operators are always looking for new product, and adventure and cultural experiences are at the top of the list for packaged travelers. African destinations meet those needs," said NTA President Lisa Simon, CTP.

Under the new partnership agreement, NTA and ATA will offer discounted membership rates and provide organizational links on their respective websites. ATA and NTA will also encourage their respective members to participate in each association's hallmark annual events, including NTA's Annual Convention in Reno from November 14-19, 2009 and ATA's 35th Annual Congress to be held in The Gambia in May 2010.

"The Africa Travel Association (ATA) is excited to partner with the National Tour Association to increase inbound the number of American travelers and tourists visiting Africa," said ATA Executive Director Edward Bergman. "As one of the worlds fastest growing travel marketplaces, the African continent offers industry trade professionals a diverse range of travel opportunities and products in a variety of sectors, like heritage, sports and recreation, arts and culture, adventure travel, religious travel, for their client-base."
