Sage Hospitality Donates More Than $70,000 to American Red Cross for Haiti

Funds raised by Sage's 60+ hotels, restaurants through Sage Helps Haiti initiative

Denver, CO - (March 16, 2010 - Denver-based Sage Hospitality Resources is very proud to announce that it has raised more than $70,000 for the victims of the Haitian earthquake through a company-wide fundraising initiative, Sage Helps Haiti.

Sage Hospitality challenged each member of its corporate family - which includes more than 60 hotels, water parks and restaurants nationwide - to hold a special Sage Helps Haiti fundraiser on Tuesday, January 26. The events ranged from a lobby bake sale at the JW Marriott Denver in Cherry Creek to a Happy Hour for Haiti at Urban Farmer and Departure restaurants in Portland.

The Sheraton Tucson Hotel and Suites collected more than $4,800 at a special Jazz Benefit party complete with a silent auction and two guest speakers who survived the devastating earthquake.

Sage Hospitality's Water Parks division, which includes eight hotels with indoor water parks, raised more than $25,000 with a special “Splash for a Cause” event, where more than 5,000 guests purchased a special $5 day pass, with 100% of the proceeds going to Sage Helps Haiti fund.

“We are thrilled that our dedicated employees worked so hard and came up with creative ways to raise money for this important cause,” said Sage Hospitality president and chief executive Walter Isenberg. “I'm very proud that these funds will directly help the people of Haiti.”
