JANUARY 18, 2007. The Caribbean Tourism Organization will celebrate Caribbean culture at the Adventures in Travel Expo in Chicago this month at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center.

Throughout the weekend expo, travel agents and officials representing Caribbean governments and tourists boards will be on hand to discuss the colorful and exotic destinations that comprise the Caribbean. Exhibitors, as part of a Caribbean Village, include:

Bermuda,

British Virgin Islands,

Cayman Islands, Dominica,

Curacao, the Islands of the Bahamas,

United States Virgin Islands,

Caradonna Dive Adventures,

Elite Island Yachts,

Liberty Travel, and

Maho Bay Camps.

Special deals will be offered by travel agents and available to those consumers looking to book a trip to the Caribbean. Entertainment will be provided by Ainsworth Rose (the Jamaica One Man Band) Steel Pan Player, with a sampling of Caribbean cuisine by Caribbean Chef James Murphy, a native of Antigua and Barbuda. Known for his extensive work with the Antigua and Barbuda Department of Tourism, and 14 years in the food industry he will showcase his specialty -- food carving and sculpting.

"We're extremely excited to be participating in this popular travel show that will allow us to present the Caribbean's rich style and flavor to a consumer audience in one of our region's main markets," said Hugh Riley, CTO's director of marketing for the Americas.
