Concord Eastridge Completes Conference Center and Hotel at George Mason University
The Mason Inn is Operated by ARAMARK Higher Education
FAIRFAX, VA - October 18, 2010 - Concord Eastridge has completed development of The Mason Inn, a 179,000-square-foot conference center and hotel on the Fairfax Campus of George Mason University.
The $50 million facility includes 148 guest rooms and a full-service restaurant and lounge. It also features 20,000 square feet of technologically advanced conference space and 12 meeting rooms, including two ballrooms.
As master developer, Concord Eastridge partnered with Balfour Beatty Construction, Gensler Architecture and ARAMARK Higher Education to develop the project through an award under the Virginia Public Private Education Act (PPEA). The project meets the stringent standards of the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC) and is designed to the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard of sustainability.
The Mason Inn was recently awarded Project of the Year in the Multi-Family Residential/Hospitality category by Mid-Atlantic Construction magazine's Best of 2010 awards program.
Operated by ARAMARK Higher Education, The Mason Inn provides a high-quality venue for university events, academic conferences and other activities. In addition, it is open to the public and expects to attract trade from nearby Washington, D.C.
