AHLEI Promotes Brenda Moons, CMHS to SVP Sales and Christopher Jack to VP Operations
Orlando, FL - October 21, 2010 - The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute (AHLEI) has promoted two long-time employees to new positions. Brenda Moons, CMHS, has been named senior vice president, sales, while Christopher Jack has been named vice president of operations.
Moons served as AHLEI's vice president of lodging sales since 1999. She joined AHLEI in 1997 as a senior training consultant for sales and then served as vice president of production before being promoted to vice president of lodging sales.
In her new role as senior vice president of sales, Moons is responsible for providing strategic and tactical direction to EI's academic, industry, and international sales efforts by generating new partnerships and further cultivating existing partnerships through schools, hotel brands and management companies and developing our international licensees.
Moons' background includes extensive experience in project management and instructional design, including design and development of computer-based training, interactive courseware, publications, and platform delivery. She was employed by several Orlando-based training organizations, including Lockheed Martin; Star Mountain, Inc.; Carley Corporation; and Interactive Media Corporation.
Moons holds a BSBA degree in production management from Florida Southern College and a certificate of interactive courseware development from the American Film Institute in Hollywood, CA. She is a member of the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART).
In his new role as vice president of operations for AHLEI's Lansing, Michigan office, Jack assists the Lansing Senior Vice President in overseeing and supporting the daily operation of all departments, staff, and processes located at the Lansing facility, with a particular focus on fulfillment operations, online product development, assessment systems, and customer service efforts.
Jack continues to perform the duties of assessment director, a position he has held since 2001. In that role, he is responsible for maintaining and upgrading AHLEI's test item repository and overseeing the creation of exams relating to all AHLEI academic curriculum and certification options and creation and delivery of online assessments and professional certification exams for industry clients. This position is also responsible for project management related to learning management and student record systems.
Jack worked in AHLEI's professional certification department from 1994 to 1998. He left the company, but returned in 2001 to become the organization's assessment director. Prior to working for AHLEI, Jack was a manager for an independent property. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics from St. Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin.
Established in 1953 as a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Educational Institute's mission is to support AH&LA by becoming the preferred provider to the lodging industry, hospitality schools, and related hospitality industries both domestically and internationally by developing and providing quality resources to train, educate, and certify hospitality professionals.
