. February 04, 2011

San Diego, CA - February 3, 2011 - The Glass Door Restaurant at the Porto Vista Hotel has introduced a reinvented menu, focused on sumptuous small plates for the best possible dining experience in Little Italy. The new menu features guests' favorites including an assortment of items that will please the palate and pocket book.

“During the month of December, we asked our guests what they wanted out of our restaurant and our menu,” said Christian Cardnuto, food and beverage director of the Glass Door. “Small plates was the overwhelming answer. So, we've used their feedback to make some very exciting enhancements to our menu. In true European fashion, our guests can now dine on tasty tapas, while taking in our exquisite view of Little Italy.”

The menu features a variety of tapas, sides and table shares ranging in price from $6-14. To encourage guests to sample them all, the restaurant is also hosting “Tapas Tuesdays,” where guests can purchase three tapas for $20 all day.

Highlights of the tapas include:

  • Smoked Salmon Flatbread with fennel, egg, caper, citrus, cream ,dill, caviar and frissee;
  • Sauteed Crimini Mushrooms with garlic butter, brandy and herbs;
  • Chicken Confit Beggars Pouch with mushroom medley and roasted shallots; and
  • Duck Fries with confit, parmesan and herbs.
