CHICAGO - March 29, 2012 - Hotel Felix, Chicago's first eco-friendly and LEED Silver certified hotel, has numerous eco-friendly events and activities throughout Earth Month. This River North eco-chic hotel, located at 111 W. Huron St., offers a variety of complimentary eco-friendly events and activities for Chicagoans and guests alike during Earth Month.

From welcoming a new sustainable sculpture (the hotel's third larger-than-life sculpture!) to housing an eco-friendly student art installation, the green party continues all month long at Hotel Felix Chicago. The Earth Month activities include but are not limited to:

• Earth Day, Earth Stay: To kick off Earth Month, Hotel Felix will offer an exclusive Earth Day room rate of $4.22 for the next 10 people who book a room for April 22 online. The option to book will start at 12 p.m. on April 2 and the exclusive rate is only available to stay on April 22 and the promotion is based on availability and does not include sales tax. This green steal of a deal is bound to go fast and interested guests are encouraged to be ready to book starting at noon on April 2 at www.hotelfelixchicago.com.
• Eco-Chic Student Art Exhibit: Hotel Felix will display an eco-friendly art installation on Hotel Felix' mezzanine from April 13-15. The Columbia College of Chicago student designed 3-D construction will be created entirely out of recycled Nespresso capsules. The display with complimentary coffee will be available from 7 - 10 a.m., April 13-15 and served by Nespresso baristas.
• An Eco-Friendly Fido Arrives: Hotel Felix is home to Loren, the ever-popular 7-foot, interactive “Doorman” and Madeline, Loren's 8-foot love and “Green Queen.” The two have been a couple since last year when Madeline joined Loren on Earth Day 2011. Almost daily, guests stop in awe of Loren and Madeline snap photos with them. The popular couple decided to add to their family in the form of an eco-friendly pup, who's due to arrive at noon on Earth Day, April 22. Allen Christian, the sustainable artist behind the sculptures, will unveil the new masterpiece, which will then be on permanent display at Hotel Felix.
• Name that Dog! Contest: Hotel Felix invites all guests to participate in their “Name that Dog!” contest. When the new eco-friendly dog sculpture arrives on April 22, the sustainable pooch will need a name. Chicagoans and hotel guests are invited to submit name of choice along with 1-3 sentences explaining their recommended dog name. Entrants are encouraged to be creative and think green. Submissions must be received via email to [email protected] by April 30 at 11:59 CST. Hotel Felix' Green Panel of environmental activists will judge submissions and select the winning name based upon a set of criteria including how well the name ties into Hotel Felix' green theme. The winner receives a two night stay at Hotel Felix, dinner at Elate, the sophisticated yet casual organic eatery, and an optional photo shoot with Hotel Felix' dog. The contest runs from April 22-30 and the winner will be announced on May 8.
