Marriott Hotels of New Orleans Launch Market Sales Organization
FEBRUARY 13, 2007. In an effort to align group sales efforts in the New Orleans market, Marriott International is launching a brand-new Group Market Sales Organization designed to offer enhanced business solutions and services to meeting and convention planners. The new Group Market Sales Organization is comprised of a dozen executives handling six hotel brands including Marriott, JW Marriott, Renaissance, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites. The ground-breaking enterprise, made up of the 13 Marriott properties throughout the city (a total of 3,998 rooms), will provide additional horsepower to property teams, eliminate redundancy and deliver results to customers in an expeditious and unified manner. The organization is being put into place with two main objectives: to ease communication for the meeting planners amongst hotels; and increase outreach to include a variety of target market segments.
The new Group Market Sales Organization is being headed by Kristen McMillon-Rauch, Market Director of Sales. The restructuring of the sales force means that meeting planners will have one point-of-contact when doing business with Marriott properties in New Orleans and therefore will receive more dedicated, focused, one-on-one time with the sales representative. Marriott's hotels will experience a broadened group sales reach that will increase demand for the product as teams are able to proactively seek out business in a variety of markets. And finally, New Orleans will enjoy increased demand for the market as a result of the redeployed sales organization.
