FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA, February 21, 2007. The classic Audrey Hepburn movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's," came to life on Saturday, February 17th in a "big screen meets the real world" moment for Neal Cohen of Springfield, Virginia as he and his guests enjoyed an elegant breakfast catered by Windows Catering of Alexandria at Tiffany & Co at Fairfax Square.

Cohen was just one of the winners in Visit Fairfax's four-month-long promotion, "Tis the Season Fairfax Style," that helped spark an 140 percent increase in traffic to www.fxva.com, the tourism site that promotes visitation to Fairfax County. As part of his prize, Cohen was presented with a certificate for a $1000 shopping spree at Fairfax Square by Tiffany & Co. Merchandise Manager Tommy Thomas and Visit Fairfax CEO and President Arnie Quirion. The prize package also included the opportunity for Southwest Airlines to fly in his family, and a stay at the Westfields Mariott.

Running from Thanksgiving until President's Day, "Tis the Season, Fairfax Style," a travel promotion designed to take the headache out of holiday planning for area residents and visitors, highlighted the world-class offerings of Fairfax County (also known as FXVA), including hotels, attractions, and of course - shopping! FXVA.com introduced FXVA's new floppy-eared mascot, FX The Tourhound, and asked visitors to help him find his way home for the holidays in an "instant win game" featuring many of Fairfax County's top attractions. According to Quirion, "Our new mascot was able to come home for the holidays, thanks to the help of more than 52,000 visitors to our website who helped him find his way! In addition, online visitors increased their activity on our website by 145%, and consequently, they've learned more about ...the tourism offerings of our county."

Area radio stations also offered special contests designed to drive visitors to www.fxva.com, and encouraged area residents to bring their families to Fairfax County for the holidays. Six lucky winners were given the opportunity to fly in their families courtesy of Southwest Airlines, were put up in one of the County's top hotels, and went on a shopping spree valued at up to $5,000 and enjoy breakfast at unique FXVA locations.
