AUSTIN, TX, February 27, 2007. As a leader in Mother/Daughter programming, Lake Austin Spa Resort announces five retreats for 2007, including appearances in May by Peggy Post, great granddaughter-in-law of Emily Post and spokesperson for the Emily Post Institute and in August by Rona Berg, author of Beauty: The New Basics, Fast Beauty and former beauty editor of The New York Times Magazine.

"Our Mother/Daughter Weeks have proved to be so popular among our guests, that we decided to add more weeks in 2007 with renown guest speakers and provide additional opportunities for mothers and daughters to spend valuable and much needed bonding time together," says Robbie Hudson, Director of Programming at the resort. "Our Mother/Daughter programs address the rich and complex bond between mother and daughter and explore the expectations and responsibilities that often weigh down this relationship, in the relaxed and non-threatening environment of our peaceful, lakeside resort."

The programs explore nutrition, self-esteem, body image, transforming rituals and of course, special topics presented by special guest speakers throughout the year. The resort was among the first spas to offer a significant savings for mothers and daughters. When the mother pays the private rate on a three-night or longer Refresher Package, the daughter stays with her for 50 percent off that rate. The package includes unlimited fitness classes and activities such as hiking, canoeing, Spinning(R), yoga, cooking classes, core conditioning and circuit weights, Pilates, Tai Chi, Nia and more. In addition, both mother and daughter receive three healthy gourmet meals daily, as well as a spa and fitness allowance which can be used in the resort's LakeHouse Spa, a 25,000-square-foot facility that is home to more than 100 unique and healing therapies. Guests may also take advantage of the outdoor pool and treatment cabanas, an open-air indoor Junior Olympic-length pool, and get a massage side by side in one of the indoor or outdoor treatment suites.

Below is an outline of the special weeks and programs available to overnight guests of the resort.

Core Program Offered Every Mother/Daughter Week:

."Body Image - Facts and Fiction" with licensed dietitian Terry Shaw who has been facilitating positive change in health styles at Lake Austin Spa Resort since 1990.
