Former IHG Owners Association Chair Mark Carrier Names 2017 Chair of AHLA
ATLANTA, GA. November 24, 2016 - The IHG Owners Association is pleased to announce that past chair Mark Carrier, CHA, President of Bethesda, MD based B.F. Saul Company Hospitality Group, has been named the new chair of American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA). Carrier was officially welcomed into the role at AHLA's Industry Leadership Dinner, which was held November 13, 2016 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York. He will begin his term January 1, 2017 and looks forward to serving as a strong voice regarding issues of great importance to hotel owners and the industry at large.
Carrier will be working to further the strategic objectives of the AHLA in alignment with the Board of Directors and CEO, Katherine Lugar. The American Hotel & Lodging Association combines hotel companies, brands, operators, ownership groups, independents, ownership associations and state lodging associations in a cohesive manner. He has taken on the role of chair after serving as secretary, treasurer and vice chair. His AHLA Committee work began while serving as an officer of the IHG Owners Association.
