Hyatt Place Opens 100th Hotel

. October 14, 2008

JANUARY 4, 2008. Hyatt Place raised the bar across the hospitality industry last week by opening its 100th hotel on December 27, 2007, just outside Memphis, securing its place as the clear frontrunner in the lifestyle hotel category. Since its introduction, Hyatt Place - publicly deemed a "category killer*" - has revolutionized the guest experience by offering a combination of style, service and amenities never before seen in the industry.

"We believe Hyatt Place is the envy of the industry - we did our homework to ensure we'd resonate with consumers and reached 100 open, operating hotels while other companies are still trying to bring their first hotel to fruition. As a result, we're light years ahead of our competitors," said Jim Abrahamson, Hyatt's senior vice president of real estate and development for the Americas. "We're thrilled to have reached this impressive milestone and it's only the beginning. The power of the Hyatt brand combined with the right concept and this kind of distribution in key markets ensure interest among the industry's most prestigious developers and owners. We have 85 in development with 20 Hyatt Place hotels scheduled to open in Q1 2008 and are positioned to continue to grow in 2008 and beyond."

To commemorate the opening of the 100th Hyatt Place hotel, Hyatt Place Memphis/Wolfchase Galleria, the brand has partnered with USAA, the leading provider of financial services to the U.S. military, veterans and their families, to donate 100 free nights to Tennessee military families.

"Hyatt Place was designed to be the next generation hotel and we're proud to have created a totally new concept that our guests have embraced and they continue to drive the brand's strong performance," said Alison Kal, vice president, marketing. "It is now our turn to recognize some of the families of service men and women who make us proud everyday."

Hyatt Place Memphis/Wolfchase Galleria features 126 completely renovated guestrooms and the Gallery, a newly designed public area. The hotel is conveniently located near the Wolfchase Galleria(R) mall, First Tennessee Fields and Mike Rose Soccer Complex. In addition to Hyatt Place Memphis/Wolfchase Galleria, travelers can also stay at the recently opened Hyatt Place Memphis/Primacy Parkway and Hyatt Place Memphis/Germantown, the city's first new build Hyatt Place hotel scheduled to open in 2009.
