Paul Howard Named Director of Hospitality Industry Relations at Penn State School of Hospitality Man

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA, December 26, 2007. 2007. Paul Howard has been named the new Director of Hospitality Industry Relations in the Penn State School of Hospitality Management, starting January 1, 2008 according to Hubert B. Van Hoof, Director and Professor, School of Hospitality Management, Penn State University.

Paul is a 1996 graduate of our program and a 2003 MBA graduate from the Smeal College of Business, where he specialized in Strategic Management and Marketing.

As many of you know, Paul was an instructor in the School from 1998 - 2003 and from 2005 till now. In his industry career he was General Manager at the Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley, PA, General Manager with Red Lobster in Strongsville, OH, and General Manager of the State College Elks Country Club.

In his new position, Paul will be charged with growing our School's presence in the hospitality industry, coordinating the day-to-day activities of our Alumni Society and supervising all the events for both the School and the Society. He will work very closely with Angelita Johnson, our new Special Events Coordinator, and will continue to serve as the faculty advisor for our School's United Club Council.

As a member of the Executive Committee of the School, I look forward to working with Paul on setting the strategic direction of our industry and alumni relations efforts.
