Association Executives and Hospitality Leaders Show their Cards in Cincinnati

Hospitality community sponsors annual conference for Ohio Society of Association Executives

. October 14, 2008

CINCINNATI, OH, August 24, 2005. Association executives from across Ohio will meet again in Cincinnati Aug. 24-26 for the Ohio Society of Association Executives' (OSAE) annual conference. Last here as a group in 1997, attendees will convene and stay at the Hilton Cincinnati Netherland Plaza for this three-day event in which participants will be encouraged by the theme "Deal Me In - To the High-Stakes Table of Association Management."

State association groups represent 10 percent of the convention business booked in Cincinnati, averaging 20,000 to 25,000 room nights in the region every year. The premier industry event, hosted by the Cincinnati USA hospitality community, continues its tradition of bringing together leaders in the association and hospitality industry. Approximately 150 men and women from professions within the convention and visitors bureau and hotel industries, to executive directors and presidents of associations such as the Ohio Travel Association, The Ohio Society of CPAs and the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association, will engage in programs featuring high-level presentations from the field's most respected experts, networking and information-sharing. Recreational activities will include a golf outing at the Crooked Tree Golf Course, cooking classes at the Midwest Culinary Institute, museum tours and a dinner reception.

Playing off the conference's casino theme, local volunteers will wear polo shits with the logo "We Can Hold 'Em" to drive home the message that Cincinnati is ready to hold any of the membership's future meetings in any of the many facilities throughout the region. Members of OSAE are the influencers in their respective associations and meeting in Cincinnati acts as the first site visit for these leaders in determining where to bring their association's next meeting.

"Cincinnati USA is pleased to welcome the Ohio Society of Association Executives to the region," said Alan Welch, President and CEO of the Greater Cincinnati Convention and Visitors Bureau. "We want them to have an outstanding experience both at the convention and as they explore many of Cincinnati USA's signature attractions, sights, shops and restaurants.

"With a new and expanded convention center nearing completion, we also want Cincinnati USA to be the destination thought of first for space, accessibility and convenience when these association executives go to book their next meeting," said Welch.

Founded in 1938, the Ohio Society of Association Executives has provided a variety of tangible services and benefits that enhance growth, development, and professional expertise among its membership. The Greater Cincinnati CVB booked this convention in April 2004.
