Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Celebrated the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11

USA, Lahaina, Hawaii. July 23, 2019

Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa hosted a special celebration during their Tour of the Stars activities in honor of the 50th anniversary of Apollo 11, the first manned mission to land of the moon, from July 16 to July 20. The hotel's Tour of the Stars activity has earned the resort the title of World's Top Hotel for Stargazing. This activity allowed guests to experience Maui's crystal-clear skies with a night of stargazing and rooftop astronomy program during 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. nightly shows, with a special romance show at 10:00 p.m. that consisted of sparkling wine and chocolate strawberries.

For the Apollo 11 Golden Anniversary Celebration, Hyatt Regency Maui presented a 10-minute video on a big screen TV of the launch and landing of Apollo 11 for each of the nightly shows. Additionally, each guest at the shows was offered the resort's special "Moon Cookies" (half chocolate, half vanilla) and special NASA Moon Landing handouts.

One family from each night had the opportunity to win a genuine lunar meteorite, an actual certified piece of the moon that landed as a meteorite in Northwest Africa. The winners were selected by a random drawing based on their position of the Tour of the Stars manifest generated by Expedia.
