Pennsylvania State Appoints Michael DiLeva to Advisory Board
School of Hospitality Management Technology
NEEDHAM, MA, September 21, 2006. Pennsylvania State University's School of Hospitality Management has recently appointed Michael A. DiLeva, Executive Vice President & General Manager of KoolConnect, to its Technology Advisory Board. Responsible for the development of the School of Hospitality Technology procedures, the 30-member volunteer board advises the department on its academic curriculum and systems throughout the school year.
At KoolConnect - a leading provider of compelling media solutions including standard digital and advanced High Definition Video on Demand, IPTV and nPVR systems for the Hospitality Industry - Mr. DiLeva oversees Sales, Marketing and Product Definition and is responsible for the company's interaction with hotel clients and partners from initial contact through deployment and on-going support.
Mr. DiLeva joined KoolConnect from Unisys Corporation, a Fortune(R) 300 technology and services company, where he served as Managing Director, Hospitality Solutions. In that position, he extended the company's travel solutions expertise into the hospitality industry and introduced a variety of solutions into this prior "green field" market for Unisys. During his tenure, the Hospitality business grew from start-up to a $12 million practice and he personally consulted with major hotel companies in the United States, Europe and Middle East.
Earlier in his career, Mr. DiLeva spent 10 years in hospitality marketing for Park Place Entertainment, Inc. and Harrah's Entertainment, Inc. - the two largest casino entertainment and resort companies in the United States and was a recipient of the Harrah's "Chairman's Award" in 1998 for his work helping to develop a patented loyalty program enhancement.
Mr. DiLeva has authored numerous articles on hospitality technology, as well as customer loyalty, is a recognized authority in the field and has served as a Contributing Editor to the National Hotel Executive.
Mr. DiLeva holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing Management from Rutgers University and a Masters of Business Administration degree from Saint Joseph's University. He has also completed an executive leadership program conducted by the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
