. October 14, 2008

NOVEMBER 16, 2007. WORLDHOTELS, the hotel group for independent hotels and regional hotel brands, today announced that it has selected the Tremont Plaza Hotel and Tremont Grand historic events venue in Baltimore to host the company's annual Americas' region conference on Feb. 19-22, 2008. The meeting, which will be attended by approximately 125 member hoteliers from the U.S., Canada, Central and South America, has been held every year since 1971 to provide member hotels with important travel industry updates and insights into the latest technological and consumer trends.

"We take the selection of our host hotel very seriously," said Tom Griffiths, vice president of WORLDHOTELS-the Americas. "Many member hotels apply for the honor of being showcased during the event, yet we chose the Tremont Plaza Hotel and Tremont Grand for their superior meeting facilities, spacious guestrooms, and guest service excellence. We're looking forward to gathering at the Tremonts in February, and know Managing Director Michael Haynie and his staff will provide the highest level of cooperation and professionalism during the planning stage and throughout the conference."

Griffiths added that this is the second time the annual conference has been divided into three distinct regional conferences to better serve the differing needs of the hotels in the Americas; Europe, the Middle East and Africa; and the Asia/Pacific. The conference in the Asia/Pacific region will take place in Kuala Lumpur in mid-January; the EMEA region will meet late-January in Madrid.
