Ian Jones Appointed GM of Swissôtel Grand, Shanghai
SHANGHAI, October 23, 2007. Several weeks ago Ian Jones started a new challenge as the General Manager of Swiss^otel Grand, Shanghai, which at the moment is under construction and will be opened in spring 2008. Before coming to Shanghai, the Canadian born General Manager has enjoyed seven years of international hospitality experience, which also included the General Manager post at the Swiss^otel Krasnye Holmy, Moscow in Russia.
Ian Jones looks back to a 23 year career in hotel and hospitality sector. Before joining Swiss^otel Hotels & Resorts he worked two and a half years for the Hilton London Metropole as Director Operations, followed by another two and a half years in the same position opening the new Hilton Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
Prior to his international placements, his Canadian hotel career included positions as the Hotel Manager for the Sheraton-on-the-Falls, Niagara Falls, General Manager of the Reunion Bar at the Toronto Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center and as Assistant Banquet Manager for the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.
